About Me

Hi! I’m Demetrius, I design experiences that connect people through stories, participation, and dialogue.

Creative. Focused. Community-driven.

These values guide how I approach my work and how I define impact in the arts.

My practice spans from the field of arts marketing, event coordination, and digital content, guided by the belief that storytelling and structure matter most when they invite participation. I hold a Diploma in Arts Business Management from Ngee Ann Polytechnic (Singapore), where I studied festival programming, volunteer development, arts policy, cultural governance, and artist management. This training equipped me to balance creative ideas with practical execution and prepared me to contribute across different areas of the cultural sector.

That balance has shaped my professional journey. At the Singapore Book Council, I designed campaigns and branded visuals that amplified the reach of national literary events, including the Asian Festival of Children’s Content and the Singapore Literature Prize. These projects deepened my understanding of how thoughtful communication can broaden access, ensuring more people see the arts as something they can belong to. My work as a Youth Advocate with OnePeople.sg built on that perspective, giving me the chance to support initiatives that promote civic dialogue and social cohesion. Both roles reinforced my conviction that the arts are most meaningful when they invite people in.

These experiences continue to shape my work today. I begin by listening, understanding the needs of audiences, collaborators, and communities, before translating those insights into creative formats that invite participation. I focus on clarity and inclusivity in the way stories are told, designing experiences that feel open and welcoming. Experimentation is central to my process; I value testing ideas, adapting along the way, and refining methods so that each project becomes not just an outcome, but a dialogue that sparks action.

At the heart of my work lies a guiding question:

How can this help people see themselves, and each other, more clearly? That question keeps me grounded while leaving space for new ideas to emerge.

Looking ahead, I want to continue shaping spaces where the arts move beyond performance into genuine dialogue, where stories spark reflection and communities feel connected. My aim is to contribute to projects that keep the arts relevant in a changing cultural landscape while staying rooted in care. In practice, this means being creative in how programmes are imagined, focused in how they are developed, and community-driven in the impact they deliver. For me, the arts are most powerful when they illuminate, connect, and endure.
